1934 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
Charlotte Harker Allison Charlotte passed away peacefully on November 5, 2017 at the age of 83. After a short battle with cancer. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Santa Cruz, CA to Robert and Geraldine Harker. The family moved to Mill Valley, CA in 1945 where she attended Park School and Tamalpais High School graduating in 1952. She married David Allison, a schoolmate in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy and upon his discharge they settled in Mill Valley. Charlotte worked in a local optometry office for years. She took art classes at College of Marin and became an accomplished artist, painting beautiful landscape scenery. She was an active member and director of the Marin Society of Artists and also belonged to the Society of Western Artists. Over the years she concentrated on her love of painting and was quite successful showing and selling her art as well as that of her great Aunt Katherine Van Dyke Harker. Following a stroke she moved to the Golden Home in San Rafael, CA. With the help of family and caregivers she was able to resume her painting. We are grateful to Hospice by the Bay and close family for providing such loving care during her treatment in her final days. She will be missed by many. Charlotte is survived by her brothers Howard, Roger, Charles and nephews Brad Harker and Brian Harker and nieces Amanda Safford, Michelle Martinko, Lisa Harker Vinson and Pamela Harker as well as many great nieces and nephews. A private memorial event is planned for a later date.
