Marguerite A. Mueller The beloved wife of Vincent Mueller, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 after eleven years courageously fighting Multiple Myeloma cancer, then subsequently liver failure. Known for her infectious smile and personality, her free spirit was apparent to all she met. A devoted Catholic: Dominican Sister, Lay Person, and Eucharistic Minister, having taught all grades from kindergarten to high school for over 30 years. Born in the Bronx, NY in 1938, Marguerite moved to Newburgh, NY in 1948. After high school, she became a Dominican Sister, remaining in the Order until 1974. She received a BA degree from Mt. St. Mary Dominican University, Newburgh, NY and a Masters Degree from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. where she met her husband Vince, marrying him in 1981. Besides teaching, Marguerite assisted her husband in several of his careers while they lived in San Francisco and San Pablo. They moved to Vince's family home in San Rafael in 1997, residing there until her death. Marguerite was very active with the retired Dominican Sisters at Lourdes Convent at Dominican University in San Rafael. She loved to travel with her husband on multiple vacations in the wine regions of France, Italy, Germany, and California, assisting him with his wine history research and wine label collections (currently at 120,000 labels). Once her health declined to the point of limited traveling, ocean cruising out of San Francisco became their primary travel enjoyment. Marguerite was dearly loved by both the Hanretta and Mueller families, so I am going to list them all: sister Kathleen Hanretta, cousin Bea Engels, niece Bridget O'Brien (husband Frank), Dr. Kelly Hanretta (husband Dr. Peter Habeika), Lori Miller (husband Keith Weller), Margie Knopka (husband Matt), Denise Jonas (mother of the Jonas Brothers Rock Group (husband Kevin), family: Kevin, Joe, and Nick, Frankie, and nephew Josh Miller. Marguerite was probably their only "Grandmother Fan Club" having attended several of their concerts and was continually promoting them to whomever was willing to listen. Vince's family is brother Rodger Mueller (wife Carol), brother C.J. Mueller (wife Kathy), sister Dorallen Davis and family: daughter Helene Onaga (husband Norman) and family: Emma, Max, and Eddie, and son J.J. Davis (wife Simone): family Jet and Dante. Marguerite was the love of my life; that breath of fresh air that revitalized my spirit and energy. There was not one day that she did not say "I love you". We all truly loved her and she will be dearly missed in our lives". I wish to thank the Kaiser staff for their conscience and personal service and attention to my wife during her ordeal. Rosary/Vigil Service is 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, San Rafael. The Mass of Christian Burial Service 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 8 also at the church. The Graveside is private at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery, Benicia. A gift of remembrance may be made to the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology, Berkeley, CA. Assisted by Monte's Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo
