Tobias B. "Toby" Giacomini Passed away at home in Point Reyes Station, CA, on Tuesday, July 17th, 2007. Beloved husband of Vetalena P. Giacomini, adored father of Carole Nunes of Santa Rosa, Joe Giacomini and his wife, Carole of Petaluma, Toby Giacomini and his wife, Sheelah of Petaluma and Chris Giacomini of Petaluma, California. He was the cherished grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 18, loving brother of Esther Gambonini of Petaluma, Ralph Giacomini of Olema and the late Joseph Giacomini, Fred Giacomini, Waldo Giacomini and Vivian Cetani. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Toby, a native of Petaluma, was a prominent West Marin businessman, owning and operating Toby's Trucking since 1942. He was 88 years of age. He was an avid hunter and an enthusiastic advocate of youth baseball. Toby was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Olema, Petaluma Council #9 Y.M.I., West Marin Lions Club, Nicasio Parlor #183 N.S.G.W., past president of the Halleck Creek Riding Club, past president of the Point Reyes Business Association, served on the educational committee of the Buck Foundation and a former member of the Petaluma Elks Lodge. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma. The Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Monday, July 23rd, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Entombment, at Calvary Catholic Mausoleum, Petaluma. The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952, the new Pt. Reyes Community Playground to be dedicated to Toby (415-663-5497, or [email protected]), or to your favorite charity.
