Eleanor Darroche Obituary

Miss Eleanor Jane Darroche Passed away in Marin County on June 5, 2016 at the age of 81 having lived a full, successful and independent life. 'El' was a well known Real Estate Agent and Investor in Marin County for almost 40 years. She was a Property Manager and Legal Assistant and a local Business Owner in Electrolysis most of her life. Eleanor was also an experienced Executive Financial Consultant in London. She held a Security Trader License in the United Kingdom, a California Real Estate License and a Bachelor degree in Business from University of San Francisco. Miss Darroche was born in Paisley, Scotland on August 16, 1934 to Neil and Eleanor Darroch whom precede her in death as well as her two sisters, Anne and Margaret and her only brother Neil, whom she treasured more than anybody. Several nieces and nephews and an extensive group of friends from her long time community of Corte Madera survive Eleanor. Devoted to God, her community and leading the example of living a full life. She was a member of Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, the Order of the Eastern Star Parnassus Lodge and the Ambassador's Club with Hill Samuel Investments in the U.K. El enjoyed extensive travels to Italy, France and the United Kingdom, especially to exercise her fluency in Italian and French! She also loved long drives through the wine country of Napa and Sonoma, with great appreciation for nature and a special affinity to birds; watching them through 'nice and clean windows'. Eleanor was a strong and assertive businesswoman who was an experienced professional with extraordinary initiative and amazing perseverance. She was an attractive lady with great appeal and style; brainy and beautiful. From a Scottish Lass to a California Girl - she is known for her bravery and sharpness, her great wit and songful giggles and will be remembered for her kindness and incredible generosity. Please join the family in honoring Eleanor's life on July 2, 2016 at 12pm with a reception to follow from 1-3pm at Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley. Assisted by Monte's Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, San Anselmo 415.453-8440

dear Ms.'El'. the library is a bit lonelier without your smile and wit. boy did we have some good laughs! you are missed, although i suspect that you lingered for a while here in the library before moving on to your reward. we are lucky to cross paths with good souls like yourself. you are the 'good' in life.

Aunt Eleanor was an attractive intelligent lady full of surprises. Independent, fearless, intuitive, upbeat and outgoing ahead of her time.

Quick witted and funny. If you crossed her watch out.
She demanded respect, as she should. Never afraid to speak her mind and well respected by many.

Wish I had the opportunity in knowing you better.
Rest in peace and say hi to Mum for me.

Love Suzanne
