Mary F. Ward

MARION: Mary F. Ward age 76 of Marion, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her residence.

She was born December 25, 1936 in Marion, Ohio to the late Avery E. and Zimrode M. (Courtney) Hollenshed.

Mary was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1955-1957 with the Women's Army Corp. She was employed at the Smith Clinic for 30 years as a medical assistant, most recently she enjoyed being a hostess-cashier at Bob Evans in Marion.

Mary is survived by her children, Todd (Penny) Ward of Richwood, Oh., Margo Middleton of Las Vegas, Nv., Kit (Steve Mayes) Ward of Marion, Oh., Christine Ward of Marion, Oh.; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Marie Jones of Columbus, Oh., Jackie Sipe of Lancaster, Oh.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dean Hollenshed and Avery Hollenshed Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 @ 4PM with Rev. Frank Isaacs officiating at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 3 - 4 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospice.

I worked with Mary all her years at Smith Clinic. She was the greatest co-worker. We worked together, laughed and cried. We were family. Although, I havn't seen Mary in some time I will cherrish all our wonderful memories. Blessings to Todd, Margo, Kit and family.

I cannot believe Mary is not with us anymore. She and Jackie were my mentors along with their mother. I have not seen all of you for many years but you have a special place in my heart and memories they will forever help us live better lives. Thank you, all of you. Mary you will be missed.
