Helen N. "Toni" (Byers) Basinger Ruhl
MARION: Helen N. "Toni" (Byers) Basinger Ruhl, age 81, of Marion, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Marion General Hospital.
She was born August 22, 1932 in Marion to the late James Harold and Sylvia Alice (Mooney) Byers. On May 26, 1974 she married Kenneth W. Ruhl, Jr. and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2010. Helen was a devoted homemaker to her family. She also was a member of the Women of The Moose #448 and a member of the American Legion # 584.
Helen is survived by a daughter and two sons, Carol (Terry) Radcliff of Marion, Ohio, Donald (Beth) Basinger of Lakeview, Ohio, Jerry (Mina) Basinger of Zanesville, Ohio; three step-sons, Gary Ruhl of Marion, Ohio, Daniel (Linda S.) Elswick of Marion, Ohio, James (Linda K.) Elswick of New Bloomington, Ohio; and 20 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; also surviving are three sisters and a brother, Eva Sharp, Doris Richards, Sylvia Byers, and Harold Byers, all of Marion, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Swisher, and five sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services for Helen will be on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 12 noon at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Naomi Beckle. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 to 12 P.M.

I am so sorry for your loss. It was a great honor to be able to care of Toni during her stay at the nursing home. I am going to miss our talks we had when I do care for her.

sorry to hear about Toni, I worked with her at Grace Woods rest years ago. I talked to Toni about 10 years ago. Sure will miss her.
