Barbara N. Mackenzie
MARION: Barbara N. Mackenzie, age 86 of Marion, OH and formerly of Providence Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, November 22nd, 2012 in Community Health Care Center in Marion.
Barbara was born January 14th, 1926 in East Providence R. I. As the daughter of Hookon R. and Hope A. (Stackpole) Norgaard. In 1946 she married Kenneth B. Mackenzie II. He preceded her in death in 1999. Barbara and Kenneth worked together at the New England Hearing Aid Center in Providence until they retired in 1993 to relocate to Ohio to reside with their son Brad and Sandra. Barbara's favorite thing in her life was her home which was a reproduction of the 1683 Parson Capen House, which she lovingly furnished with antiques. She was also a very loving mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her son and daugher-in-law, Brad & Sandra Mackenzie of Marion and her son, Kenneth MacKenzie III of Maryland. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Shellie (Mark) Montgomery of Marion; and her four great grandsons, Jonathan, Josh, Jake & Joe Montgomery; and her nephews, Greg & Peter Norgaard and Paul K. ( Carol ) Howard and their daughter, Heather.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Chris; and her sister, Murriel Lynch.
Graveside Services for Barbara will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 29th, 2012 in Marion Cemetery with the Reverend Doctor O. French Ball officiating. Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia on Thursday morning from 10:00 until 11:00. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timsonallenmelroy.com.

I was so sorry to hear of Barbaras passing. When I was taking care of her at the house I really enjoyed my time with her,she made me laugh. She told me so many stories of her family,showed me pictures,ect. I wish I could have met her husband.I guess he was quite a character. I know his son ,Brad is a "One of a Kind",thats why we all care for him & Sandy. Prayers are with All Of You at tis time. Cindy,Chuck & Bill

I was very sorry to hear about "Mom's" passing and can still remember how she used to put up with us back in the days when the band was playing. She was a great lady and I know she will be missed by all who knew her.
