Marion - Emma Mae Hornsby, age 83, of Marion, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Presidential Center in Marion, Ohio.

Emma was born October 15, 1935 in Marion to the late Marion Piper and Margie Patterson and attended New Bloomington High School.

Emma married James Hornsby on July 6, 1964 who passed away September 25, 1993.

Emma worked for many years cleaning houses and sold Avon in the Marion area in order to provide her family. For many years, Emma was a member of the Eagles, American Legion and Moose and a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Emma was a loving mother and grandmother always making sure her family had what they needed.

Emma will be missed by children, Carl (Karen) Jones, Earl Jones, and Debbie Jarvis, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren (with one on the way), 16 great-great grandchildren (with one on the way); siblings, Jim Piper, Gordon (Bev) Brown, Bob Brown, Margie Adams, Pat Redmon, and Barb McKenzie; along with countless nieces, and nephews.

Emma was preceded in death parents Marion (Betty) Piper and Margie Patterson; daughters, Brenda Lee Smith and Karen Gamble; siblings, Bill Piper, Buster Piper, and Maryann Gallant

Services will be held at Snyder Funeral Homes, GUNDER/HALL Chapel 10 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
