Richwood - Olin E. Parish, 100, of Richwood, died peacefully early Wednesday morning August 8, 2018 at the Memorial Gables, Olin achieved his goal of reaching 100 on June 28, 2018.

He was born in Jackson Township to the late Clarence Anson and Lenna Rae (Watkins) Parish, he was also preceded in death by his wife Anna Lucille (Ransome), they were married January 28, 1940 at the Richwood First Baptist Church parsonage and she died January 31, 2008, also preceding him in death was five brothers and 2 sisters.

Olin was a 1936 graduate of the Richwood High School. He was a lifelong farmer, he loved the farm life, on most days, even late into his nineties, he could be seen driving from Richwood up to the farm in Essex, maybe to cut some wood or just to make sure things were ok.

Olin was a member of the Rush Creek (Essex) United Methodist Church, he was a 70-year member of the Essex K of P and former Jackson Township Trustee and Clerk.

A true family man he loved spending time with family, Christmas time was one of his and Annie's favorite times of the year. Family fishing trips to his sister's cabin in Minnesota was always a favorite for Olin.

Olin will be remembered for his ornery spirit and loving personality.

Surviving are his children: Judy (Ink) Monroe, Richwood, Bill (Beth) Parish, Richwood, Joyce (Terry) Christy, Covington

9 grandchildren - Jim (Rita) Monroe, Tim (Tracy)Monroe, Tami (Bill) Holloway; Carmen (Eric) Shields, Barbara Parish, Jeff (Mandy)Parish, John (Michelle)Parish, Jill (Lee)Arent, Keith (Lauri)Christy

23 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren

Funeral services will be held Monday August 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood, Pastor Josh Freshour will officiate, burial will follow in the Price Cemetery, Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home in Richwood.
