NEVADA: Shirley F. Bucher, age 84, of Nevada, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 6:15AM at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Shirley was born on July 19, 1928 in Heron, Illinois to Lethal and Edna (Bright) Reece, both of whom are deceased. She married Gilbert Bucher, Sr., on May 5, 1956 in Nevada and he survives.

She is survived by two stepsons, Dave (Bunny) Bucher and Ron (Pat) Bucher, both of Upper Sandusky; two daughters, Sharon (Rick) Swartz-Gunder of Mansfield and Kim (Gary) Tyo of Mt. Gilead and a son, Gilbert (Laura) Bucher, Jr of Nevada; along with nine grandchildren, Dave Bucher II, Dan Bucher, Ronda Gearhart, Renee Bucher, Josh Bucher, Zach Bucher, Holly Ritter, Rebekka Reed; and nine great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by three brothers, Kay (Carol) Reece of St. Augustine, Florida, James (Cheryl) Taubin of High Point, North Carolina and Jack Taubin of North Miami Beach, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-daughter, Sharon Leathe; and a sister, Joye Varnum.

Shirley enjoyed knitting and crocheting, taking pictures, playing Scrabble and Euchre. She was a very creative person and was the family organizer, always planning picnics, family vacations and camping trips. She enjoyed fishing with her husband for perch and walleye at Lake Erie and was know by her grandkids as the "fun grandma".

Funeral services for Shirley F. Bucher will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, January 30 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral home in Nevada, with Rev. Chelsea Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, January 29, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
