Joel L. Diffie III

Services for Joel Leonard Diffie III, 39, of Terrell will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Downs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Bollman and the Rev. Darwin Roraback officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, north of Harleton, under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Diffie died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, in a plane crash near Batesville, Ark. He was born Jan. 5, 1967, in Camden, Ark., to Joel Leonard Diffie Jr. and Patricia Lynette Danna Diffie. He married Deborah Bollman on Dec. 27, 1998, in Diana, and was employed by Barr Air Patrol in Mesquite. He was a member of North Cities United Pentecostal Church in Garland and was active in music ministries in other churches. Mr. Diffie is survived by his wife, Deborah Diffie of Terrell; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Diffie Jr. of Jefferson; one brother, Jeff Diffie of Japan; one sister, Mary Maertins of Jefferson; other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to End Time Ministries, 1803 Highway 450 N., Diana, Texas 75640. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
