HUGHES SPRINGS - Memorial services for John Arthur Arceneaux, 59, of Lone Star, will be Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 3 p.m. at the Cedar Springs Baptist Church on U.S. Highway 259 North in Ore City. At Mr. Arceneaux's request, no formal family visitation is planned. Mr. Arceneaux died Sunday, June 18, 2006, after a battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Longview to Joseph Guy and Minnie Louise Arceneaux. He attended Judson schools, where he was a pitcher for the Judson Blue Devils baseball team. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Army and served four years, training for a career in radiology. Upon his discharge from the Army, he continued his career as an X-ray technician for 30 years, before returning to his true passion of brick masonry. Mr. Arceneaux was the owner of TCB Masonry at the time of his death, and his work is displayed throughout East Texas. He enjoyed fishing, taking care of his family and his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Marcene Arceneaux of Lone Star; daughters, Kari Byrd and Kristie Arceneaux of Grapeland; three grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cedar Springs Baptist Church Building Fund. Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc.
