Andrew J. Bodendorfer Jr. was born June 15, 1931 to Andrew Bodendorfer Sr. and Elizabeth Bodendorfer (Krohn) in Marshfield. He attended Marshfield School District. Andy married Trudy Fischer, June 29, 1953. Andy and Trudy were blessed with five children: Linda, Sandy, Greg, Kurt and Mike.
Andy worked as a farmer and was a superintendent for Michels Pipeline. Andy enjoyed the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship throughout much of his life. He founded Stratford Cattle Company and fostered many business ventures in which he had the privilege of working alongside his sons Greg, Kurt, and Mike. Andy owned Midway Auto in Colby since 1993 and for the past 23 years he lovingly guided his son as co-owner. He was devoted to his work and providing for his family. In his later years, he enjoyed seeing his family be a part of the businesses he grew.
Andy's adult life was spent in the township of Spencer, where he gave back to the township by serving as chairman for many years. His first concern was always the care of others and the well-being of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Trudy of Spencer; his five children: Linda (John) Kiviko of Palm Coast, FL, Sandy (Jerry) Ertl of Marshfield, Greg (Patty) Bodendorfer of Marshfield, Kurt (Christine) Bodendorfer of Nixa, MO, and Mike (Denise) Bodendorfer of Spencer. He is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
