Eileen Margaret "Bunny" Dasler

Dasler, Eileen "Bunny" Margaret

Eileen "Bunny" Margaret Dasler nee Warrick of Minocqua, 66, died on April 7, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield of complications from Toxic Shock.

Eileen was born on November 19, 1946, along with her twin sister Loreen, to Howard and Eileen (Mattison) Warrick. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1964 and married Theodore W. Dasler on May 4, 1968. Together they have five children and six grandchildren.

Eileen learned to play piano from her mother, who was a piano teacher, as a young child. She cultivated that skill throughout her life and became known to many as an accomplished pianist, organist and accompanist. Both she and her husband have been musically involved in every community they have lived in. Eileen was a piano teacher for many years in Minong, WI and has always loved working with young students who had an interest in music.

Eileen had an adventurous spirit and never turned down an opportunity to experience something new. As a teenager, she performed in a water ski show with her siblings and competed in a snowmobile race, taking second place. She loved to travel and has been to three continents and every state in the Union except Alaska, to which she had planned a trip with her husband this summer. One of her lifelong dreams was to travel to the Galapagos Islands, which she did (twice). In Ecuador, she tubed down a caiman and piranha-infested river with her husband and sister. Eileen never put off till tomorrow what she could do today.

There was nothing Eileen loved more than being with her family. Her idea of a perfect evening was curling up in a comfortable chair with a dog on one knee and a child on another, listening to stories as the younger kids played in the living room. She considered dogs a part of the family and prized a kiss from them as highly as a kiss from a grandchild. In her eyes, her children and grandchildren found unconditional love and support.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Daniel Decker. She is survived by her husband, Ted, of Minocqua, siblings Loreen (Steve) Dimmick of Dayton, OH and Richard (Audrey) Decker of Eagle River, WI, children Ted (Jill) Dasler of Marshfield, WI, Jeff (Stephanie) Dasler of Denver, CO, Roger Dasler of Stevens Point, WI, Tim (Jenny) Dasler of Vershire, VT, and Tania (Roger) Reichardt of Dodgeville, WI. She is also survived by grandchildren Sara, Sarani, Xander, Maggie, Casey and Elli, dog Lillie, and granddogs Bailey, Piper, Odie, Vixie, Baby, Buddy, and Indiana.

Eileen requested that no funeral be held for her. Instead, there will be a "Celebration of Life" service held on April 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeland Union High School auditorium in Minocqua, WI. The family requests that bright colors be worn instead of black. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Humane Society, your local food pantry, or a music education cause of your choice in her name.
