James Jahnke

Jahnke, James F.

James F. Jahnke, age 91, of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital. Jim was born in 1922 in Marshfield to the late Frederick and Ruby Jahnke.

Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served in WWII. He owned and operated the Jahnke Bakery in Tomahawk for 12 years and then baked for Sacred Heart Hospital for 13 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He especially enjoyed his evening cigar.

Survivors include his Wife, Annette "Pat", of Tomahawk; 1 Son, Fred (Joan) Jahnke of Blythewood, SC; 2 Daughters, Karen (Saba) Luces of Las Cruces, NM, and Katherine (Matthew) Ankrum of Marshalltown, IA; 1 Brother, William (Elizabeth) Jahnke of Marshfield. He is further survived by 3 Grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew and Phillip. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Frederick and Ruby; 1 Sister, Hazel Brown, and 2 Brothers, Gerald Leiteritz and Richard Jahnke.

Mass of Christian Burial for James Jahnke will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 11 AM from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Father Don Kania will officiate with interment at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of mass at 11 AM. Generations Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Tomahawk is in charge of arrangements.
