Haigh, Arlene

Arlene G. Haigh, age 82, of Neillsville, WI died Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, WI.

Arlene Grace Gregory was born on July 31, 1929 in Racine, WI the daughter of Franklin and Martha (Polzin) Gregory. She attended school in Racine, worked at Western Printing, while in high school and graduated, with honors, from the Washington Park High School. She was united in marriage to Carl A Nemitz on October 16, 1948 in Neillsville, WI at the parsonage of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. They farmed on the family farm on Maple Road in the town of Pine Valley. They had two children, Carl F. and Valerie A. Arlene's husband, Carl A. died in March of 1977, and in 1979 her son, Carl purchased the farm. After her husband's death, Arlene went to work at the Ben Franklin Store in Neillsville. On July 16, 1982 she was united in marriage to Owen C. Haigh at St. John's Evangelical Church in Neillsville. Owen died in April of 2010.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. She was a member, past president and held various offices in the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Auxiliary Post #73 in Neillsville. Arlene enjoyed traveling, and had been to all 48 continental states. She also enjoyed watching movies and crocheting items for her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Carl F. (Barbara M.) Nemitz of Neillsville, WI and Valeria A. (Warren W. Kinnick of Neillsville, step-son, Clark Haigh, Largo, FL, grandchildren, Carl (Heather) Nemitz of Ringle, WI, Melissa Buchanan of Spencer, WI, Warren Wyatt Kinnick of Chili, WI, Warren Shane-Ellery Kinnick of Edgerton, WI, great grandchildren, Carter, Ally and Brayson Nemitz, Elexis Buchanan, Vanessa and Ethan Kinnick, three sisters, Gloria (Lee) Wirkuty of Neillsville, WI, Pearl (Roger) Wiersum of Racine, WI and May Mycon of Racine, WI and a brother, Milton (Joan) Gregory of Racine, WI.

Arlene was preceded in death by her two husbands, Carl F. Nemitz and Owen Haigh, three siblings, Myra, Helen and Franklin and a daughter-in-law, Patty Haigh.

Funeral Services for Arlene will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert will officiate. Music will be provided by Sharon Nemitz, organist and St. John's Children's Choir. Interment will be in Town of Hewett Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with a 7:30 p.m., Legion Auxiliary Service. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. John's Church.

Casket Bearers are: Carl Ryan Nemitz, Wyatt Kinnick, Shane Kinnick, Ethan Kinnick, Rory Schutte and Roger Polzin.
