Etten, Leone C.

Leone C. Etten, mother of Donna Mae (Alvin) Berres of Marshfield, WI, age 98 of Cadott, WI., passed away Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI.

Leone was born on August 26th, 1914, the daughter of William and Frances (Eder) Eslinger in the town of Edson. She grew up in the town of Edson and was united in marriage to Albert "Tab" Etten on November 14th, 1934, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following marriage they owned and operated the Edson Tavern and Dance Hall for more than 39 years, retiring in 1975. Leone moved to Cadott in 1993 and in November 2012, she moved to Wells Nature View Assisted Living in Marshfield, WI., by her daughter.

Leone enjoyed playing cards and visiting with her family.

Leone is survived by her children, Donna Mae (Alvin) Berres of Marshfield, WI.; and Leon Etten of Eau Claire, WI.; sisters, Alfrieda Brunner of Brookfield, WI; and Adella Kenealy of Cadott, WI.; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Doug Bremness of Cadott, WI.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert "Tab" Etten; parents; daughter, Darlys Bremness; grandaughter, Joan "Berres" Ladowski; brothers, John, Jake, Andrew, Frank and Herman Eslinger; sisters, Verona Spath, Mayme Mahal and Delphine Schesel.

A Christian Burial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott, with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in the town of Edson.

Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday morning at the Church. Leiser Funeral Home Cadott, WI.
