Johnson, Daniel J.
Daniel J. Johnson, 90 of Gleason died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Stratford where he lived the past 4 months.
Funeral services will 2pm Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford with Pastor Sue Eidahl officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Stratford with military rites performed by the VFW # 6352 of Stratford.
Visitations will be from Noon Saturday at the church until service time.
Dan was born on August 16, 1925 in Denmark, WI to Peter and Alta (Rasmussen) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Delores L. Zuidmulder on July 14, 1947 in Green Bay and have been happily married for 68 years.
He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and was called up during the Korean War. After his military honorable discharge, he worked for the Federal Government as a Soil Conservationist, working with farmers and construction workers for 30 years. They retired and lived their dream in the north woods for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Delores of Stratford, three sons, Roger (Judy) Johnson of Deerfield, Forrest "Speedy" (Roseann) Johnson and Jeff (Sheryl) Johnson both of Stratford; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Warren (MaryAnn) Johnson of Denmark.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Peter, Joel and Donald Johnson, 8 brothers and 1 sister.
Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home is Stratford is assisting the family.
