Korth , Herold H.

Herold Henry Korth, 104, of Hewitt, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Well Nature View Assisted Living, 2807 S. Apple Av., Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Pastor Jon Guenther officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:30 am on Thursday until service time at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Burial will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Korth, Bradley Korth, Gregory Korth, Cody Korth, Colby Korth and Charlie Moore.

Herold was born December 19, 1912 in Marshfield to Louis and Anna (Ohm) Korth. He was united in marriage to Anita Woltmann June 22, 1936 at the Woltmann farm in Bakerville. Anita died May 28, 1999. They were married for 63 years.

Herold grew up in Marshfield and attended Immanuel Lutheran School. He attended Purdy School for the 9th grade and completed High school at McKinley High graduating in 1930.

After High School, he worked for Roddis Lumber Company in Marshfield. The work schedule at Roddis was 10 hour a day, 5 days a week. The hourly wage was 10 cents per hour ($1.00 per day). He also worked on the family farm in Hewitt. Herold was part owner of the Hewitt Lumber Company with his Dad and three brothers. The Lumber Company was sold in 1979. In 1950 he purchased one of the family farms and farmed until retiring in 1978. He lived on this farm until October 1, 2016, at which time he moved to Wells Nature View in Marshfield.

Herold is survived by his daughter Patricia (James) Gallatin and son James (Joyce) Korth. He is also survived by Grandchildren- Randall Gallatin, Richard (Diane) Gallatin, Steve Korth, Robert (Brenda) Korth, Debra (Michael) Moore and 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Reinhold Korth, Arnold (Betty) Korth, William (Angeline) Korth and sisters and brothers-in-law Annette (Edward) Wendt, Pauline (Gerhard) Stiemke and one Grandchild Michael Korth in infancy.

Herold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and School and served on the church council for many years. He was also served on the School Building Committee. Herold was committed to Christian Education for children giving them a foundation for life and for eternity.

The family will designate a memorial in Herold's name at a later date.

To all the families of Harold Korth You have my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. I liked waiting on him at the store. He never said much but he always had a smile, now its time to remember the good times.
