James M. Roberts, 48, of Ludlow passed away tragically in the B-17 Bomber crash at Bradley Airport on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Born in Springfield on December 8, 1970, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Gauthier) Roberts. Jim was a 1988 graduate of Minnechaug High School and obtained his Associates degree from STCC. He worked as the 2nd shift production supervisor at H.P. Hood for many years. Jim loved adventure and lived life to the fullest. He was a talented artist who hoped to publish his own comics. He was a military history buff, enjoyed gaming, skiing, snowboarding, and he loved the Red Sox and Patriots. A hard working, caring man, Jim made friends with all he met. He loved spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his siblings Joseph Roberts of Voluntown, CT; Greg Roberts, Michael Roberts and Sharon Lee and her husband Chuck, all of Wilbraham. He also leaves his beloved nieces and nephews Kayleigh, Daniel, Joseph and Nicole.
Family and friends are invited to services celebrating Jim’s life on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be from 1:00-4:00 PM with a service following from 4:00-5:00 PM. Memorial Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
