Mabel M. Voss, 85, of Little Rock, Ark., died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in McAlester.Visitation will be held before the service Friday from 1 to 2 p.m.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral Home, of Arkansas.She lived most of her life in the Little Rock area. In her early years, she excelled in semi-pro basketball and softball, playing and barnstorming with the renowned Hazel Walker All Stars. She was also an accomplished bowler, competing in many state and national tournaments. In league play, she had a 700 plus series and a high game of 289.Active in the Parent Teacher Association, she held many local and state positions and was awarded a Life-Time PTA pen and membership.She enjoyed being a demo hostess for Brown Packing Company. Her pies and cakes were especially enjoyed by her family and friends.She and her husband, Carl, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.Survivors include daughters, Judy Stalling, Gloria Kemp, and Charlotte Voss; sons, Carl Voss and wife, Linda, and Roger Voss and wife, Cynthia; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Rogers, and Jean Voss.Also, eight grandchildren, Ginger Schmidt and husband, John, Angie Nelson and husband, Scott, Kimberly Aitkens and husband, Charlie, Richard Voss and wife, Mona Gayle, Becca Woods and husband, Eddie, Piper Kemp, Matthew Voss, and Rachel Voss, and eight great-grandchildren, Jalana, Jessica and Jacob Schmidt, Mallory and Lanie Nelson, McKane Leichner, and Daric and Brayson Voss.She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; brothers, Austin, Charles, Clifton, Bud and Sonny Rogers, and grandson, Bert Burgess.
