Dorothy T. Arnao
Dorothy T. Arnao, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit in Allentown. Born in Cockysville, MD, she was the only child of Norris and Ada Riley. She graduated from Maryland General Hospitals School of Nursing in 1944. In 1945 she married James Arnao, M.D. of Philadelphia. Dr. Arnao opened a General Practice in 1945 and Dorothy was his nurse until he retired in 1986. After retirement, Dorothy and Jimmy moved to Allentown to live with their daughter, Judi Buenaflor. Jimmy died in 2007. Dorothys life was devoted to her husband and her work as a nurse, to her daughter, Judi, and to her grandchildren, and great-grandson. In Philadelphia she was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church and in Allentown, she was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her husband, Jimmy. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors: Daughter, Judi Buenaflor of Allentown; granddaughter, Amy Buenaflor of Lititz; granddaughter, Katherine Buenaflor of Brooklyn, NY. Services: Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 18 at 1 p.m. with a calling hour at noon in the church. Interment will be Saturday, January 19 at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery Delaware County at 10 a.m. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Thomas More School, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, PA 18103.
