Gemma P. Turtzo of Pen Argyl passed to eternal life on Monday, December 10, 2007. Born in Pen Argyl on December 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Brescancine) Visentin. She and her husband, John A., celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on September 6. Gemma was retired from the former Turtzo Real Estate and Insurance Company, Bangor, and for many years previously operated Gemmas Beauty Salon, Pen Argyl. She graduated from Pen Argyl High School. She was a member of St. Rochs Catholic Church, West Bangor, and a past president of the Pen Argyl Womens Club. Survivors: Husband; son, John Peter; grandson, John Theodore of Bangor; brother, John Visentin of Stroudsburg; sisters, Nevis Kellow and Lena Cesare, both of Pen Argyl; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Anthony John. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. this evening, Friday, in St. Elizabeths Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Ave., Pen Argyl. Visitation, 5 p.m. this evening in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Pen Argyl. Contributions: May be made to Slate Belt Pregnancy Support Services, 436 S. Second St., Bangor, PA 18013.
