W. Branagan Obituary

W. Richard "Dick" Branagan, 97, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, March 17, 2016. He was born January 11, 1919, son of Genevieve (Rible) and William Richard Branagan. Richard was the loving husband of Rosalie "Lee" Branagan. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Dick graduated from Bucknell University where he was a member of the Owl Club of Phi Gamma Delta. As a navigator, he served his country, 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps. After 38 years, he retired from Lone Star Industries. Dick was a member of Saucon Valley Country Club for 53 years where he loved to golf up until he was 95. His passions were cooking and traveling, including an assignment in Amman, Jordan with IESC. He especially loved his family. Survivors: Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years Lee; daughters, Gail, wife of Tracy Martin, Bobbie, wife of Daniel Herrmann; son, Alex Hassinger and his wife Anne and his grandchildren, Alexa and Christopher Martin, who were dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his first wife Peg and children Sean and Holly Branagan. Services: Visitation will be Monday, March 21, 2016 from 11a.m. to 12 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will be private. Contributions: In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to DeSales University Scholarship Fund, 2755 Station Avenue, Center Valley, PA 18034.

I just now saw that my Uncle Dick Branagan passed away. I am sorry to hear of his passing. He is now reunited with my Aunt Peg (my Mother's little sister) and my cousins Sean and Holly. He was very loved by our whole family and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Uncle Dick. We love you.
