John was my room mate at Phi Kappa Psi at Rider. When Nixon's first draft lottery picked numbers for Vietnam I got a 363 and John, who was born on February 29, got a 366. Knowing we would never get drafted, we went out and celebrated.
We were the first guys in the fraternity to hang our beds from the concrete ceilings so we would have a couch and dresser for entertaining. Everyone thought we would fall out of bed after partying. Years later half the house had their beds hanging from the ceiling.

John was my roomate in the Phi Psi fraternity house at Rider College. He was agreeable to my idea of hanging our beds on the concrete ceiliing with swing chains. This enabled us to have a couch and full size refridgerator in the room. Everyone thought we were crazy to sleep hanging from the ceiling. Ten years later half the house had their beds hanging from the ceiling.
His girlfriend, Barbara Rosengarten, spent a fair amount of time on our hand me down couch which was luxurious to us.

Johnny will be missed. He was a kind man. Always and a good listener. As my cousin & have lived next door I have many great memories of our youth.
