David E. Ashford

David E. Ashford, 52, of Mountain Top, Luzerne County, died July 12 in Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was married to Melisa (Shaw) Ashford for 17 years in February. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Texas, he was plant manager for Stroehmann-Maier's Bakery, Palmer Township, and previously worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakery, Fort Worth, Texas. Born in Spring, Texas, he was a son of the late Earl and Dimple (Jones) Ashford. He was a member of the American Institute of Baking. Survivors: Wife; sons, L. Rocky Castro and Robert D. Ashford, both at home; daughter, Dava M. Ashford of Houston, Texas; brothers, Jimmy of Willis, Texas, Larry of Fort Collins, Col. Services: to be announced.
