Joseph W. Golla, 85, of Allentown, passed away February 26 in the V.N.A. Hospice at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Patricia M. (Orner) Golla, who passed away in 1987. Born in Reynoldsville, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Regulski) Golla. He worked as a printer for the former Kutztown Publishing Company and the Reading Eagle Times prior to retiring in 1987. As an Army veteran of World War II, Joseph was a member of the 99th Reconnaissance Troop where he was awarded a Bronze Star medal for meritorious service in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Allentown. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 392, Reynoldsville, a member of the 99th Infantry Division Association, a life member of Reynoldsville Elks 519, and a member of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association Inc., the Pennsylvania Jazz Society, Fearless Fire Company No. 14, the Ukrainian American Citizens Club, Allentown, and the Communications Workers of America. Survivors: Daughters, Kathleen M., wife of John Antonelli Jr. of Hellertown, Colleen D., wife of Russell L. Sutton of Bethlehem; brother, Paul E. of Allentown; sister, Mary Mancuso of Reynoldsville; grandsons, Thomas A. Scholl and Michael P. Scholl of Hellertown. He was predeceased by sisters, Helen Cuba, Anna Margaret Meme, Leona Shellenberger Osmun and Theresa Golla. Services: 9:40 a.m. Thursday, ODonnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Thursday in the church. Call 8:30-9:40 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hanover Township. Contributions: May be made to either the American Cancer Society or V.N.A. Hospice at St. Lukes.
