Juan O. Blanco Obituary
Juan Orlando Blanco, 91, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Gladys (Llanos), who passed away in 1995. Born June 14, 1927 in Havana, Cuba, he was a son of the late Juan and Hortensia (Lopez) Blanco. He was the postmaster in Bolondron, Cuba, prior to coming to the United States in 1971. He retired from Victaulic in 1990. Juanito, as he was affectionately known, was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton for many years and loved the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a beloved husband, Papi, Tio and Abuelo to his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was everyone's "Abuelo". He was truly a one of a kind man who will be deeply missed. Juan is survived by a son, Reynaldo Blanco of Easton; a daughter, Maria Elena Blanco of Easton; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Oliver and husband, Harvie, of Whitehall; Elena Schumacher and husband, Gabriel, of Easton; Mark Blanco and wife, Valerie, of Easton; Jeremy Varese of Easton, and Joshua Varese of Tokyo, Japan. He is loved dearly by 6 great-grandchildren, Iliana, Harvie, Jahala, Emaira, Sara and Nicolas. In addition to his wife and parents, Juan was preceded in death by his brother, Dionisio Blanco of Guira de Macurijes, Cuba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 9th and Lehigh Streets in Easton. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampton with an additional calling hour on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Williams Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Juan.
