Pete Willard R. Kurtz passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Pocopson Home, West Chester. Born in Quakertown on March 19, 1923, he was a son of Warren and Katie (Haring) Kurtz of Quakertown, PA. He had six brothers and one sister. Pete graduated in 1941 from Quakertown Senior High, then served four years in the Navy during World War II, stationed in the Galapagos Islands. He was employed by Pillsbury Company, East Greenville, until his retirement in 1989. Pete was known for his dry sense of humor and his homemade shoefly pies. Survivors: Brother, Eddie of Quakertown; son, David and his wife, Rachel, of Coatesville; daughter, RuthAnn and her husband, Michael, of Downingtown; son, Daniel and his wife, Cathy, of Trumbauersville; daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Matthew, of Downingtown; four grandsons, five granddaughters. Services: graveside, 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 in Tohickon Union Cemetery, Weisel. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, 20 N. Ambler St., Quakertown.
