Ronald Bowen

Ronald Michael Bowen, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in his home on June 3, 2017. He was the loving husband of 57 years to Patricia A. (Morgan) Bowen. Born in North Catasauqua, he was the son of the late W. Howard and Gladys I. (Michael) Bowen. Ronald graduated Allentown High School in 1956. He joined U.S. Navy Reserve in 1955 and was active in the U.S. Navy 1956-1961 He served on the U.S.S. Bassett, U.S.S. Salem, and U.S.S. Amthion. Ronald worked for 42 years in counter sales at B and H Associates and Thermal Control Supply. Ronald coached baseball teams at Mountainville Youth for 17 years. He also coached men's fastpitch softball for several teams: Blue Velvet, Allentown Patriot Jack's, and Fatzinger Auto Salvage. He continued playing softball for the Allentown Red Old Timer's team for 28 years and served as the treasurer for the Allentown Patriot's for 9 years. He also bowled on many different teams for 54 years. Ronald enjoyed telling jokes, traveling, shopping, and going to the casino with his wife and grandchildren. Survivors: Surviving with his wife Patricia are his sons Ronald M. Bowen Jr. of Bethlehem, Michael S. Bowen and partner Donn Davis of St. Petersburg, FL, Kenneth M. Bowen and wife Tara (Biechy) Bowen of Allentown, his beloved granddaughter Ashley A. Bowen and fiancé Brian J. Kucinski of Toms River, NJ, beloved grandson Alex M. Bowen of Somerville, MA, his daughter in law Tina M. Bowen of Bethlehem, his sister Barbara Talbott of East Liverpool, OH, his sister Judith Morgan and husband George Morgan of Bethlehem, and 2 granddogs Jetty and Cruzer. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert G. Bowen. Services: A casual memorial service will be held at Patriot's Park, 1027 West Wyoming Street in Allentown, on Friday July 14 at 11:00am.
