Rose Marie Johns Obituary
Rose Marie Johns, retired accountant for The Morning Call and family matriarch died on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Country Meadows. She was 93. Born in Allentown in 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Roncolato. Rose Marie was a graduate of Allentown High School (class of 1942). She was married to Joseph, who preceded her to eternal life after 66 years of marriage. Rose Marie worked for The Morning Call as an accountant for more than 45 years. She also waitressed for Hoffman Caterers and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Allentown Italian Club, where she served as treasurer of their bowling league for 46 years. Rose Marie was an avid reader and a passionate Philadelphia sports fan. Cooking and baking were also her passions and appreciated by all who had the pleasure to enjoy her creations. She was of Catholic faith and at the time of her death, a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Survivors: She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Johns, Sr. and his wife, Dolores and Thomas Johns and his wife, Irene; four grandchildren Christina (Johns) Scripps and her husband Michael, Jeffrey Johns, Jr. and his wife, Kristi, Jennifer Johns and Dante Johns; four great-grandchildren Max, Ella Rose, Gabrielle and Olivia; her brother, Gerard "Jack" Roncolato; and many nieces and nephews including Nancy Schrader. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown. A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church. Entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum, Wescosville. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
