Terry V. Kern
Terry V. Kern, 60, of Orefield, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Lois B. (Peters) Kern. The couple celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary last June 21. Born in Allentown on December 19, 1949, Terry was the son of Roy C. and Annie Ann M. (Schneck) Kern of Schnecksville. He was employed by Haines & Kibblehouse, Inc., at the Easton Block Plant in Martins Creek from 1992 to 2008. Prior to that, he worked in the family business, the former Roy J. Kern Trucking where he worked at their quarry in South Whitehall Township from 1967 to 1992. He was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs. Terry had a passion for HAM Radio and was a member of the Lehigh Valley Amateur Radio Club # W301. Survivors: Wife; parents; daughters, Nikki M. Humenik and her husband Paul of Orefield and Stephanie A. Kern of Orefield; sister, Barbara A. Lamb and her husband Charles Dallas; brother, Brian R. Kern and his wife Colette of Schnecksville; one niece; two nephews. Services: Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
