William E. "Bill" Kaufmann Jr. Obituary
68 years of age and Whitehall resident, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown, PA. He was the devoted and loving husband to Jo Ann (Leister) Kaufmann to whom he was married for 43 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Anna (Zaun) Kaufmann and the late William E. Kaufmann, Sr. He was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Freedom High School in 1968 and received his degree in Health and Physical Education from Lynchburg College. He worked as a mail carrier for 30 years and upon retiring worked part time for AD Computer (Jet Pay) and drove the shuttle for Fellowship Manor in Whitehall. Bill was an avid sports fan who followed the Dallas Cowboys and loved going to Lehigh University football and basketball games and wrestling matches. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and coached girls basketball and softball for the school for many years. Bill loved his family, especially his two granddaughters Casey and Lindsey. Bill was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Survivors: His mother, Anna, beloved wife, Jo Ann, daughters Kelly Carney and her husband Sean of Hackettstown, NJ and Theresa Colvin and her husband Gregory of Nazareth, brother, Edward Kaufmann and family of Allentown. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. John S. Pendzick on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Avenue, Whitehall, PA 18052. Visitation with his family, celebrating his life, will be 8:30 to 9:45 am in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, located directly across from the Church.
