Jane A. (Schaffer) Savage, 86, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. She was a devoted wife of Frank Savage, Jr. They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage in April. Born in Allentown, December 16, 1931, Jane was the daughter of the late Olive and William Schaffer of Allentown. She graduated from Allentown High School. Throughout her life Jane was employed at Bell Telephone, Immediate Medical Care as a nursing assistant, and C. Leslie Smith. Jane also volunteered for the Red Cross for over 30 years where she was a swimming and water safety instructor and for Sacred Heart Hospital where she trained volunteers and Candy Stripers. Jane was a member of the Allentown Woman's Club, Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary, Lehigh Valley Hospital Auxiliary, and Zion Choral Society. Jane was a member of the former Dubbs UCC of Allentown where she sang in the choir. Jane was a devoted and incredibly proud mother and grandmother. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family. Survivors: In addition to her husband; sons Stephen Savage of Allentown, David Savage and his wife, Gari Lee of Palmerton, Mark Savage and his wife, Lauri of Texas, and daughter Kristine Rigler and her husband, Eric of Allentown; beloved grandchildren, Justin Bleiler, Garrett Bleiler, Natalie Mullin, David Savage, and Matthew Savage. She is predeceased by daughter, Kathleen Bleiler, and grandson, Joseph Savage. Service: A memorial service will be held 10:30am Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N. Krocks Rd, Allentown, with the Rev. Stephen D. Emick officiating. Visitation period from 9:30-10:30am Thursday prior to the service. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The University of Pennsylvania, Abramson Cancer Center.
