Billie Lee Orenbuch Obituary

Billie Lee Orenbuch, 83, died peacefully on December 1, surrounded by family.

Born and raised in Michigan, she finished high school in Indiana. Billie Lee was a woman of courage who followed her dreams to New York City in 1965. There, she met and married her husband of 55 years, the late Donald Orenbuch.

Billie Lee's professional life was dynamic. She successfully ran a Montessori school in New Jersey, worked in Information Technology in Philadelphia, and later earned her MSW from Widener University (1995). She then found her true calling as a clinical therapist. She was a skilled practitioner of many cutting-edge therapies, including EMDR.

Residents of Gladwyne, PA for over 35 years, Billie Lee and Don were active members of the Philadelphia arts community. They also cherished their membership in a long-running folk music group, often welcoming the singers into their home for their turn to host. In 2020, they relocated to Georgia to be near family.

Billie is predeceased by her husband, Don. She is survived by her son, Tim Orenbuch; and her daughter, Evelyn Orenbuch (Stuart). A celebration of life is planned for March in Philadelphia (and online). Contact Tim or Evelyn for details.

Donations in her name may be made to Planned Parenthood, NPR, or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America
