Patricia Reid Obituary

It is with hearts full of love and the sure hope of Christ's resurrection that we announce the passing of Patricia Lindsey Reid, who went home to be with Jesus on December 14 at the age of 75. While the world has lost a truly incredible woman, the memory of her unforgettable smile - a beacon of joy and kindness - will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the honor of meeting her.

Born on May 24, 1950 to Ray and Maxine Lindsey in Jacksonville, FL, Patricia graduated from Ribault High School. She attended the University of South Florida and the University of Florida. After marrying the love of her life, Thomas Reid, in 1971, they relocated to Miami where she attended Miami-Dade Community College to obtain her nursing degree. She worked as an RN until the Lord miraculously blessed the couple with 3 children in just 3 1/2 years. After a brief time in West Palm Beach, they settled in Marietta in 1985 where they raised their family.

Patricia passionately worked as a RN in the Wellstar Health System for over 20 years where she touched countless lives with her servant heart and unending compassion. She volunteered at Cobb Pregnancy Center and was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church for decades. For 18 years, Patricia was a dedicated member of Community Bible Study where she loved serving in the children's ministry. In recent years, she attended Marietta Community Church.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Edward Reid; their three children - Micheal Reid (wife, Lauren); Jennifer; and Emily Campbell (husband, Lewis); and her sister, Barbara Benham (husband, Jon) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her legacy of faith lives on in her 10 grandchildren - Burke, Lilly, Ella, Harrison, Brynn, Haylee, Hannah, Audrey and Naomi; and her 5 great grandchildren. She is now reunited in heaven with her precious granddaughter, Faith.

While we grieve her absence on earth, we rejoice that she is now completely healed and in the glorious presence of the Lord, where her smile is undoubtedly shining even brighter. That beautiful smile reflected the deep joy she found in Jesus, compelling those left behind to carry on her legacy of shining His light. And we are confident that she was lovingly welcomed into heaven with the words "well done, good and faithful servant."

Smile today for Patricia, for she is finally home.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life service on Monday, December 29 at 2 p.m. at Marietta Community Church, 3121 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW, Marietta, GA. Pat was my next door neighbor. We enjoyed talking about her grandchildren, Jesus, what she was reading, but she was learning, nursing advice... She never forgot what we shared and would always check in on my family.
A dear strong woman who cared for so many, is now being cared for by her heavenly father. Amen!

Pat and I met at the gym in a pool class-quickly realized we both were involved in Community Bible Study (CBS) and quickly became prayer partners and fast friends. Pat had so much love for each member of her family as well as for others. The obituary describes her well. We all need more people like Pat in our lives.

There are too many precious memories to recount of my dear sister and best friend. Not only sisters by birth, we are sisters in Christ and soulmates. Pat was a great listener and encourager and always reminded me of Christ´s boundless love for me. She was a friend to many and offered kindness to everyone. She was a humble servant of her Lord Jesus Christ and put others needs ahead of her own. She loved her family well. I will miss her beyond measure, but know where she is and how much in the past few months especially she yearned for heaven. What a time of rejoicing it will be when we are reunited in our heavenly eternal home!
