Ann Dalpiaz Mastrangelo
July 21, 1918 - Mar. 9, 2018
Ann Dalpiaz Mastrangelo was born to Celeste and Giovanna Dalpiaz on July 21, 1918. She went peacefully to the Lord on March, 9, 2018, just months shy of her 100th birthday.
Ann grew up in Helper, Utah, and graduated from UCLA. She then accepted her first teaching job in Los Banos, California, as a high school home economics teacher.
It was in Los Banos that she met her future husband Elge D. Mastrangelo. Rumor has it that they were intentionally introduced at a May Day bar-be-que. They were married a few years later and made Los Banos their home for life.
Ann worked daily with her husband at Mastrangelo's Mens Clothing but spent many of her working hours at the Los Banos Drug fountain counter! When you would call Mastrangelo's and ask for Ann, a typical response would be … "She's not in right now … she is across the street having coffee!" Ann and Elge worked together for over forty years.
Ann was all about family. She had 5 siblings that she adored. She would often say that she was blessed with an amazing family, something money couldn't buy. She was a great cook, loved to work in the yard planting flowers, cherished her friends and was a great storyteller of Los Banos and family history. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Ann
during her 99 years.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her son John Paul, her son Paul, her husband Elge, and four out of her five siblings.
Left behind to carry on Ann's legacy: Ann's daughter Paula and son-in–law Raymond Barrera, her sister Inez Colzani and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to all that cared about her for so many years.
