David G. Gomes
October 10, 1947 -
March 31, 2018
David died from cancer on March 31, 2018 at the age of 70. David was born in Los Banos to Constatine and Caroline Gomes. He lived in Turlock/Modesto for over 40 years. He is survived by his sister Gloria Warner and brother-in-law Bob, brother Lee Gomes and sister-in-law Regina, nephew Lee Gomes and nieces Marla, Christina, Mandy, Amy and Jessica. He also leaves behind cousins and long time buddies. David worked in the automotive industry, first as a body shop manager and most recent insurance adjuster. He enjoyed life and especially meeting new people and going different places. He loved spending time on his boat and riding his Harley with his brother Lee and traveling in his van with his dog Pepper. They criss crossed the US going from coast to coast. He had an amazing life. He had the greatest attitude and faced life's challenges as minor bumps in the road. He referred to his cancer as a dented bumper. He touched many lives and will be missed. A special thank to Ron, David's neighbor for his support and care. We are grateful to Community Hospice of Modesto, Maria and her team of dedicated caregivers. At David's request in lieu of a formal funeral, there will be a Mass to celebrate his life on Friday, April 13th at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos and followed by a gathering at Espana's Restaurant.
