Freda J. Scott
March 15, 1938 - May 8th, 2018
Freda J. Scott, 80 years old passed away on Tuesday, May 8th in Modesto, CA surrounded by family. Freda was born March 15th, 1938 in Alton, Texas to the late Elza and Ruby Jolly. Freda was one of four children, a sister Debbie Newman and two brothers Arnold and Alton Jolly.
Freda married the love of her life Walter E. Scott in 1957. The marriage resulted in the birth of three sons, James (Joe) Scott, Jerry D. Scott and Jeffrey D. Scott and eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Freda worked several different positions within the county of Merced retiring as a Supervisor of the clerical unit for the Merced Child Support Division after 30 plus years. Freda devoted her life to Christ and cherished praising the Lord and fellowshipping with other Christians. Freda always put others before herself and enjoyed helping others. Freda enjoyed reading her bible, praying with and for others and loved spending time with her family and friends. Freda wore the most beautiful smile and enjoyed laughing and would light up a room when she came in. She was a caring, generous and loving person, a devoted wife, mother and friend. To know her was to love her. She had a countless number of friends and would always be there for you when you needed her.
The moment that you left, our hearts were split in two. One filled with the love and memories of a life well lived and the other a deep loss knowing that we will not see you until we meet again in heaven. Remembering you is easy, we do every time we close our eyes, but missing you is a heartache that will never go away. We will hold you tightly within our hearts and there you will remain. God now has Freda in His loving arms.
