Michael Rex Hanley
August 23, 1942 - May 5, 2018
Mike Hanley, also known as Pops to everyone, because he would pop in and then pop out again when his feet got itchy. The earth has lost some of its brightness and color with his passing. Like a super nova; beautiful and bright, but gone in a blink of an eye.
Pops is survived by his soul mate, Kristy who he loved beyond reason and explanation; however their love transcended time, space and destiny. His son Steven Hanley was his best friend and they spent most days together just doing what men do. Steven gave him his nickname Pops! Tammy, Stevens, wife, gave him so much to admire that he called her a ball of fire. His daughter, Sonja, whom he loved and admired. I know he wishes they could have had one more day together. His four other kids were not of his blood but to Mike they were his from day one to forever. Brittney, Brantan, Braxton, and his baby girl Brooke, which he raised as his own second family which gave him endless joy. He was proud of all his children's accomplishments in their adult lives.
He adored his grandbabies, Amanda, Guy, Elaina, Mykiah, Avaeh, Amaya, Blair, Braely, Wyatt, Willow, Devin and Dawson. He is now holding one grandbaby, Alaya, now. He also has one great grandson Zam.
The family will be celebrating his life on Saturday May 19th at 11 a.m. at Henderson Park which is just outside of Snelling. Please wear bright colors and crazy hats. Instead of flowers bring a side dish and a story about Mike. The family will provide all the meat and water. If you want something stronger bring it with you, because Mike would. We will be celebrating with bubbles, kites and red noses all the things Mike loved. May he rest in peace and happiness until we see him next. Hats off to you old Indian, run free, run wild and live as you did here. Great family, great friends, a great smile, with a huge heart, and natural ability to draw people to him no matter their race, age or religion.
We will all miss you Michael Rex Wild Pony "O" Hanley.
