Theda Haswell

Theda Haswell Resident of San Jose Theda (Salestrom) Haswell (81) of San Jose, CA passed away August 18, 2013 at the Kaiser Hospital in San Jose, California. She was born November 15, 1931, in Tekamah, Nebraska to Theodore and Jennie (Dennis) Salestrom. Theda graduated from Tekamah School in 1948 and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She served as school secretary for a couple of years. She was married to her high school boy friend, Harold Haswell, June 14, 1951 in Biloxi, Mississippi, where Harold was stationed with the US Air Force. The couple lived in Denver, Colorado for several years before moving to San Jose, California where they have lived for the past 53 years. Theda worked as an elementary school secretary for the Union School District in San Jose for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Survivors include husband of 62 years, Harold Haswell of San Jose, brother Alvin Salestrom (Hazel) of Tekamah, Nebraska, son Michael (Missy), daughter, Christina Delaney (Jay) both of California and daughter Stacey Schutt (Robert) of Gretna, Nebraska; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A private service was held at Bay Area Mortuary 11 A.M., August 20, 2013. There was a cremation with final resting place at the Tekamah Cemetery, Tekamah Nebraska.
