Resident of San Jose
Geraldine Barry, Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland and San Jose passed 15th May 2019.
Beloved mother of Colin and Claire Baeriswyl who passed away tragically in San Jose. She is deeply regretted by her devastated children, Colin and Claire, brothers and sisters John, Rachel, Mary, Ruth, Joe, Aileen and Nora and her partner Mike Potter who all loved her dearly. Her extended family, sisters in law Jillian and Jean and brothers in law Johnny and Victor, her nieces and nephews, her late parents Joe and Nora Barry. She is regretted by Stuart and Lou Baeriswyl. She will be missed by her many wonderful friends especially Cathy, Aileen, Barbara, Belle & Zoe, Sandy & Stewart.
Geraldine was an outgoing, ebullient person with excellent communication skills who came to the United States from Ireland with a single suitcase and $500 dollars in her pocket. She went on to graduate from USC, earning a business degree in entrepreneurship, and leading her own successful real estate business. After a hiatus from work, she was enthusiastically beginning a new job that seemed perfect for her, ironically, working with a Catholic organization helping people who were dealing with grief because of the death of a loved one. She was active both in her church and community.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. Second Street, San Jose. Funeral Mass Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at ST. CHRISTOPHER CHURCH, 2278 Booksin Avenue (At Curtner Avenue), San Jose.
Geraldine's children have made the decision that in lieu of flowers please donate to Rotary Club of San Jose Foundation (1690 Senter Rd, San Jose, CA 95112).

Still always missing you! For some reason I keep thinking about how you’d never double tie your shoes while walking no matter how many times they came undone! I miss our walks and talks. What a beautiful mass for Geraldine. Colin and Claire tributes to their mother were amazing. How lucky she was to have such eloquent children. We met Geraldine during orientation day at Cal State Maritime; a very delightful person. Colin and Claire, you are the beneficiaries of her love and guidance; always remember the good times and what a caring soul she was to all.

We are shocked and saddened by Ger's untimely passing. Her entire family, especially Colin and Claire, are in our thoughts and prayers. She was a hurricane of energy, intellect, wit as well as a mentor. She impacted our lives as well as so many others. Unfortunately, life is not everlasting, but love and memories are. We were shocked to hear about the tragic passing of our dear friend Geraldine. Geraldine was our real estate investment mentor and her strength and her love for life are attributes that we will dearly miss. She was the bright light in everyone's life and we will think of her often. Our hearts and love go out to Colin and Claire and we hope they find the strength to carry on.

I am shocked and saddened to read about the a wonderful light that has gone out with the passing of lovely Geraldine. I have known her only briefly, however, we had a ball. Time spent with her was always a blast. Geraldine's lovely spirit lives on. She will be sorely missed.

Always loved and deeply missed, you will be forever remembered as an extraordinary and remarkable woman, by your old and forever friend.
My deepest sympathies to Colin, Claire, John, Mary, Ruth, Rachel, Joe, Stuart,Mike and all who mourn our darling Geraldine today. She and I had often joked about ending up in a nursing home together in Cashel still applying our lipstick. It is a picture I have carried in mind and hope this many years. How I wish it could come true.
