Edward A. Poleselli Obituary
Edward A. Poleselli
Edward A. Poleselli, born in New York on January 27, 1926 was the middle of three sons born to Corina Bassi and Nicolà Poleselli. Ed died on June 13, 2018. He was 92. After serving a short stint in the Army Air Force, during WW II, he competed his studies and graduated from Fordham University in 1948 with a degree in Chemistry. In 1957 Ed left pharmaceutical giant Pfizer to start his own chemical distribution business on the San Francisco Peninsula, where it is still family owned. He named the company Vivion in memory of his older brother, Viviano, who was killed in World War II.
In 1957 he married another first-generation Italian-American, Grace Cava and settled in Redwood City where they successfully raised their five children—four daughters and a son. Ed enjoyed camping and backpacking and the family could often be found outdoors, picnicking, hiking, camping or backpacking. Ed's hobbies over the years were photography and woodworking. He was also an avid reader.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife Grace, and is survived by his brother Lloyd and his five children, Nicole Lynn (Michael), Dina Jacobsen (Randy), Angela Boynton (Terence), Maria Scoles (Ross), Michael Poleselli (Linda) and eight grandchildren, Brigitta, Zachary, Aria, Alessandra, Dante, Dominic, Linnea, and Tate.
