June McShane Haniger

June McShane Haniger 1929-2008 Our extraordinary mother passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara on Feb. 18th, 2008. June was born on Nov. 8th, 1929 in Friend, NE to Thomas and Edith McShane. June was special "Sis" to brothers Paul, Tom, Bill, Don, and John. June met the love of her life, husband Walt, while still in high school in Tacoma, WA. June and Walt and their young family moved to Sunnyvale in 1960 and made their home on Nuthatch Lane. June was an amazing mother to ten children! June was a loving mother and doting grandmother. She had an exuberance for life and treasured her Catholic faith, extended family, friends, 49ers, Giants, and #1 fan of all things affiliated with Archbishop Mitty H.S. June was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walt in 1983. Surviving children include Kathleen Stribling (children Daniel, Christine, Renee), Walt (wife Judy, children Jason and Mitch), Michael (wife Ruth, children Jonathan, Tim, Nathan, Matthew, Michaela, Ethan, Seth), Rozanne O'Keefe (husband Dennis, children Shawn and Matt), Patrick (wife Brenda, children Lori, and Kristi), Daniel (children Bailey, McKenna, and Hunter), Maureen Heropoulos (husband George, children Ryan, Kyle, Cassandra, Alexandra, Angela, Christina), Erin Mulcahy (husband Mike, children Sean, Connor, and Riley), Tim, Matt (wife Julie, children Lauren, Caitlin, Megan). Much loved great grandchildren Mitchell and Tyler. A Funeral mass celebrating June's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at 9:30 am at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose. Reception immediately following service at Aymar Event Center. Private burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in June's name to: Walt and June Haniger Memorial Scholarship Fund, Archbishop Mitty H.S., 5000 Mitty Ave., San Jose, CA95129.
