Resident of San Jose
Lise la Cour passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13th in San Jose, CA where she resided. Lise was born in Copenhagen and spent most of her life in Denmark. She came to San Jose in 2002 and was the school director of the Ballet San Jose School for 10 years, eventually opening her own LaCademy of Ballet which ran until her passing. During her time in California, Lise left an indelible mark on the dance community, helping to shape young dancers as artists and individuals. Lise is survived by her three devoted children, Nilas Martins, Ask la Cour Rasmussen, and Mikkel la Cour Rasmussen, her husband Roger Lyness of San Jose, and a granddaughter Skylar Cosette Martins. There will be a Memorial Service held at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden Sun. 28th of Aug. From 4-6pm.
