Lyle Smith Obituary

Lyle Sidney Smith March 24, 1914 - Dec. 20, 2007 Lyle Sidney Smith, 93, of Sunnyvale and formerly of Stockton, CA, passed away in El Camino Hospital on December 20, 2007. Born on March 24, 1914, in Aurora, NE . During World War II Lyle worked at Hendy Iron Works in Sunnyvale as a machinist . He spent many years as a salesman ending his career in auto sales and leasing after 23 years. He and his wife of 70 years moved to Sunnyvale 6 years ago residing at Life's Garden Retirement facility. He was a member of Sunnyvale First United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Ann Smith, daughter Pat Tubbs, son-in-law John Tubbs, grand daughters Heidi Switzer and Tonya Oravetz, grandsons-in-law Steve Switzer and Rod Oravetz and great grandchildren Corinne and Andrew Perera and Kenny and Lillie Oravetz all of Sunnyvale. Memorial services are on Saturday, January 19, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church, 535 Old San Francisco Road, Sunnyvale, CA at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions to the Parkinson Institute or First United Methodist Church are preferred. Private committal at the Cyprus Garden of Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, California.
