Our mother, Marianne Hinds was a character. I mean this in the grandest sense. She always lit up the room with her smile. She was larger than life. If we were all together and there wasn't enough energy in the room, she made sure we stepped up our game. I think she could have been a comic. Mom also made us feel that anything was possible and that she truly believed in us. She loved to travel with her family and regularly visited us no matter where in the world we were living at the time. Mom also had a real fondness for her pets and would take in stray animals in need.
Marianne was the first generation daughter of polish and russian immigrants who settled in Wilkes Barre, PA. She married Robert Welti and relocated to California. They had four children, Chuck Donna, Sherri, and Lisa. She became the lead realtor at Sunnyvale Realty where she had a very successful career that spanned several decades. She remarried to Joe Hinds.
Marianne passed on October 22, 2018, in San Jose, California, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 81. She is preceded by her sisters Helen and Irene Tanski. She is survived by her brother Joseph Tanski. Her four children, Chuck, Donna, Sherri, and Lisa. Her five grandchildren in order, Madelyn, Brandon, Blake, Julia, and Ashley. Her second husband Joe Hinds and his son Garrett and his sons Tanner and Kyle.
She was a fighter to the end and cared deeply for her family. Her spirit will be missed. The Welti children will plan a service at a future point in time.
