Jeannie passed away on November 18th at 6:20pm due to a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Jeannie was born in Buffalo, New York to parents James and Martha Murphy. She spent her childhood in Woodland Hills, CA and attended Catholic schools all her life. Later, the family moved to Los Gatos, CA where she graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School and Santa Clara University. She worked at Kaiser Electronics as a Contracts Administrator and later a paralegal at various law firms. In 1990 she married Bruce Ruberg where they resided in Danville, CA and raised 3 children: Amanda (28), Rachael (24), and James (15).
Jeannie loved her cats, Paradise and Sami, who were always considered part of the family. Family was very special to her. She was an avid boater and had a passion for waterskiing and being on the water. She loved growing orchids, cross-stitching, bible study and calligraphy.
Survived by sister Kelly and brother-in-law, Jon; Sister Patty and brother-in-law Marc; Brother James P. Murphy Jr. and sister-in-law Jeanne, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sister Susan Joan Murphy, 2013.
She was a kind and compassionate person and is to be remembered as someone who lived by The Golden Rule: Treat people as you wish to be treated.
Celebratory Service to held at Graham-Hitch Mortuary at 1:00pm in Pleasanton, CA on February 2nd, 2019. Her final resting place will be at Los Gatos Memorial Park, Los Gatos.
