Merry P. Wilkins
Dec. 3, 1926 - Dec. 19, 2020
Resident of Campbell
Merry Page Wilkins of Campbell left this earth for her eternal Heavenly Home at age 94. She was born in Spokane, WA, to Ross and Martha Page and had an older sister, Helen Lintz. The family moved to Los Gatos when Merry was three, where her father took a teaching position at Los Gatos High School. Merry attended San Jose State and studied Nursing and Art.
Merry married her high school sweetheart, Roy Wilkins in 1947, after Roy returned home from serving in the Naval Air Corps in the South Pacific theatre during WWII. The couple moved to San Francisco, then to Arizona and Iowa, for Roy to complete his education. They made their way back to San Jose, settling in the Cambrian Park area, where they started their family in 1951. They enjoyed a loving marriage until early 1992, when sadly, Roy passed away.
She is survived by her four children: Christine Wilkins Roades (Stephen), Tom Wilkins (Gene), Carol Wilkins Heisler (Ted) and Dan Wilkins (Nikki). Merry had eight grandchildren: Kate Roades Sosnowski (Aaron), Alex Wilkins (Lauren), Alissa Wilkins Healy (Kyle), Andrew Heisler (Maddison), Sam Wilkins, Austin Wilkins (Alicia), Ian Heisler and Matthew Heisler (Shelby). Merry had three great-grandsons: Miles, Otto and Hank Sosnowski.
Merry's long, full life was marked by service to her family, church, friends and community. She was a creative life-long learner who loved studying the Bible, new languages, golf and cooking with her husband, taking painting classes, and traveling the globe with Roy and her sister Helen and friends.
Merry delighted in serving on the board of AAUW, as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for her daughters, Team Mom for her sons' baseball teams, and as a Teacher's Aide for the Cambrian School District for many years. She served with committed involvement at South Hills Community Church and on the ER Volunteer Staff at Good Samaritan Hospital for thirty-five years, retiring at the age of eighty-nine.
Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6.
We love you, Mom / Merry, and thank you for loving us so well and for so long!

Mrs. Wilkins was the beloved Mother of my dear friend, Chris Wilkins Roades. I spent countless hours at the Wilkins home where I was always welcomed by Mrs. Wilkins. Mrs. Wilkins was kind and compassionate. I will always remember her smile, her passion, and her generosity . As I grew into adulthood, I was impressed by Mrs. Wilkins' zest for life and her commitment to helping others. God bless you, Mrs. Wilkins.

Merry had a contagious smile. Just talking briefly with her would lift your spirit. I am so happy to have known her, even for only a few years.

I met Merry when I was 3 years old and I just turned 62 in December. She was the mom of my best friend Dan and I was always down at her house playing wiffle ball and football. Merry and my mother were Girl Scout leaders for my sister and Carol. Merry thought enough of my wife and I that she sent an anniversary card to us every year, and she used to send letters to my daughter when she was in college. Merry will be missed by all of us in the Schneider family and we are very sorry for the Wilkins loss. We were grateful to know her for many years and now she is at peace with Roy. God Bless Merry.

We miss you, Merry. We were so glad we had you as a neighbor all these years with your wonderful family. It was fun sharing stories of travel and family, going to see Edith's daughters in the Nutcracker, making plum jam for you, and sharing flowers and meals. Love and condolences to your family, Trudy and Jim
