Ray passed away peacefully at his home from a brief illness. His two daughters were by his bedside. Ray born in Atchinson, Kansas. In 1934 he married Darlene Louise Harden. They were married for 71 years and had two daughters, Donna Rae Gomes and Sherry Lee Huston. They have 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Ray worked for the Mercury News in the Composing room before retiring. He had many interests, fishing, hunting, worked on cars, liked fixing anything, played golf, water ski, played cards, made game boards called "Joker" for anyone who played cards with him. He loved square dancing more than anything. He and Darlene danced for 45 years. He loved people and life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Campbell United Methodist Church, 1675 Winchester Blvd., Campbell on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. Donations to the .
